People Thomas Bass Thomas Bass Chair of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science & Professor of Mathematics Office: DSC 113F Dr. Bass joined the C-N math faculty in 1995. He holds the Ph.D. in mathematics from Vanderbilt University, and obtained his undergraduate degree from Mercer University with majors in both Christianity and mathematics. Dr. Bass currently serves as the Mathematics Program Director and was previously the faculty advisor for Appalachian, the C-N annual. Dr. Bass is active in Jefferson City’s First Baptist Church where he serves as a Sunday School teacher, as a member of the adult choir, and as a member of the handbell choir. He also serves as a member of the executive committee of the Tennessee Mathematics Teachers’ Association.
