People Stephen Joiner Stephen Joiner Assistant Professor of Political Science B.A. Milligan College; M.A., A.B.D., University of Kentucky Dr. Joiner is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Carson-Newman University. At Carson-Newman, Dr. Joiner leads the Carson-Newman Model United Nations program and is the advisor for the Panathanees Chapter of the National Honors Society Mortar Board. He received his PhD in Political Science from the University of Kentucky, where he specialized in International Relations and Comparative Politics. Dr. Joiner teaches classes at Carson-Newman including American Foreign Policy, Political Violence, Intro to International Relations, Intro to Comparative Politics, The American Presidency, and International Human Rights. In his free time, you can find Dr. Joiner writing about college football and playing with his dogs.
