Carson-Newman takes top honors in national marketing and advertising awards

Carson-Newman University’s Marketing and Communications Office was among the top winners in multiple categories in the 2022 Collegiate Advertising Awards.

The Collegiate Advertising Awards is a national program recognizing higher education organizations for excellence in communications, marketing, advertising and promotions of their schools.

Carson-Newman earned three gold awards (scoring 95-99 and top 5% nationally) and a silver award (scoring 90-94 and top 12% nationally) in four categories. It was the only university receiving more than two honors in the Faith-Based College and University category.

A panel of design and higher education marketing professionals reviewed submissions, with a possibility of earning 100 total points. Awards were issued for entries that received high marks from judges placing them in the top 16% of the nation for advertising excellence. Entries were evaluated in the areas of creativity, layout/design, typography, production, quality, and overall effectiveness.

“Telling our story in a compelling and engaging way is so important to our university, and our Marketing and Communications team performs this well,” said Carson-Newman President Charles A. Fowler. “Whether through design, copy, social media, video, or other creative means, they represent Carson-Newman with excellence. I could not be more pleased for them in receiving this well-deserved recognition.”

Other universities earning top honors include in the category were: St. John’s University and Oklahoma Baptist University. Other overall winners included Auburn, Marquette, Notre Dame and Syracuse Universities.
