“And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” — Micah 6:8
The Six8 Scholarship Program at Carson-Newman University is dedicated to nurturing students toward a life of faith-driven action as they seek to become educated citizens and worldwide servant leaders. Through committed community service and intentional faith development, students are challenged to engage their world by acting justly and loving mercy with a humble reflection of Christ.
Students are encouraged to grow in their ability to reflect the Biblical essence of Micah 6:8 and Christlike Servant Leadership. In with seeking to learn what God desires of us, students are required to complete 25 hours of biblical servant leadership development per semester as well as 50 hours of service per semester which reflects our call to act justly and love mercy. As students are involved in the Six8 Program they will both experience and be mentored in what it means to serve while walking humbly with God daily.
Students who receive the Six8 scholarship will receive $2,500 annually towards tuition at Carson-Newman as well as significant opportunities for service and faith development through being a part of Community Connections. Scholars are selected to join the program through an application and interview process conducted during the year prior to their matriculation at Carson-Newman.
