Faculty piano recital to feature works by Mozart

(Sept. 4, 2019) JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Dr. Ryan Fogg, Carson-Newman professor of music, will present his annual faculty piano recital, Thursday, Sept. 12. Free and open to the public, the 7:30 p.m. event will be held in Thomas Recital Hall on campus.

The program, “Mostly Mozart,” will feature a variety of works for solo piano by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The performance will conclude with Reminiscences de Don Juan, a fantasy by Franz Listz based upon themes from Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni.

The native Texan will also be performing the program at universities in Alabama, Virginia, Kentucky and Mississippi.

Fogg holds degrees in piano performance from the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Houston, and East Texas Baptist University. He is also recipient of Carson-Newman’s Teaching Excellence and Leadership Award and the Faculty Creativity Award.

Thomas Recital Hall is located in Tarr Music Center on campus.
