Hawkins and McClellan honored with Teaching Excellence and Leadership Awards category: Campus News | August 29, 2014 (Aug. 29, 2014)– Carson-Newman University presented the 2014 Teaching Excellence and Leadership Awards to Dr. Kim Hawkins, assistant professor of education, and Dr. John McClellan, assistant professor of philosophy during the University’s Convocation Ceremony on Aug. 26. The award, which has been presented since 1990, is given to non-tenured faculty members exhibiting creativity and have proven effective in the classroom. Pictured, left to right, are Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Kina Mallard, Hawkins, McClellan, and President Randall O’Brien.
