University supports local PBS Scholars’ Bowl

(Jan. 15, 2014) – Carson-Newman University is a proud Community Partner of this year’s Scholars’ Bowl. The annual educational program is produced and aired by East Tennessee PBS, and appears Monday through Friday at 6 p.m. The program runs through March 14.

Each season the Scholars’ Bowl welcomes over 40 high schools from East Tennessee and Kentucky to compete in the trivia competition. Celebrating its 30th year, the event provides students with a competitive environment that promotes both strong leadership and teamwork.

The program is filmed in the East Tennessee PBS Studio located in Knoxville.

Carson-Newman University is a private, Christian liberal arts institution. Founded in 1851, Carson-Newman is located in Jefferson City, Tenn., among the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. The University has 2,045 students and offers 50 undergraduate majors, as well as bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees.
