Sweeney and Ott Snag Vanaman Scholarship

The Sherman B. Vanaman Scholarship recipients for 2012-13 are Andrew Sweeney and Jennifer Ott. The scholarship honors the enduring legacy of Dr. Vanaman by providing financial assistance to an outstanding mathematics major. Though he officially retired in 1994 after serving 38 years as department chair and distinguished teacher, Professor Emeritus Vanaman is still teaching our freshman courses.

From Catonsville, MD, Andrew is a double major in both mathematics and physics. He is leaning toward pursuit of a law degree after graduation.

Jennifer came to C-N from South Doyle High School in Knoxville, TN.  She is majoring Mathematics and Cross-Cultural Sociology as well as playing on the tennis team.
