A story has the power to influence, motivate for good, and impact outcomes. The communication program at Carson-Newman prepares you as a master storyteller — whether crafting a social media campaign, covering breaking news events, serving as a spokesperson for an organization or leading in a host of other media-related fields.
The Carson-Newman communication major allows you to tailor the program to concentrate your studies on specific professional skills in speech, writing or production. Elective courses prepare you for leadership roles in your chosen field of communication, including journalism, sports information, public relations, nonprofit work, broadcasting or other areas.
